HOW MUCH DOES UNTETHERED COST?

Pricing is per bay:

  • $25 for 30 minutes
  • $50 for 60 minutes
  • $75 for 90 minutes

WHAT IS A BAY?

A bay is the area in which you move about freely (untethered) and interact/experience VR.

We have five bays in our arcade.

HOW CAN I MAKE PAYMENT FOR A BOOKING?

All our transactions are done online through our booking system.

All bookings must be paid in full before your session starts.

I AM HAVING TROUBLE BOOKING A TIME, WHAT CAN I DO?

I NEED TO CANCEL MY BOOKING, WHAT CAN I DO?

You have up to 48 hours before your booking date to cancel or reschedule your booking.

We do not accept last minute cancellations.

To cancel your booking, please contact us or email: hello@untethered.com.au.

WHEN SHOULD I ARRIVE?

We ask that you arrive at least 5 minutes before your booking time.

This will allow us to go through how Untethered VR works, safety aspects and how to make the most of your time in the virtual world.

Should you arrive late for your booking, this time will not be reallocated and your booking will end when it is scheduled to.

HOW MANY PEOPLE CAN PLAY AT ONCE?

One person per bay.

However if you hire multiple bays you and your friends can play together in the same game at the same time (if chosen game has multiplayer available).

THERE IS A GROUP OF US COMING BUT WE HAVE ONLY BOOKED ONE BAY, CAN WE SHARE THE VR EXPERIENCE BETWEEN US?

Yes, a group of people can use the one bay.

However only one person can be playing at a time.

You can swap players throughout your booking, but the more people you share with (we recommend a maximum of four people per bay) the less time each person will be able to spend in VR.

Be sure to take that into consideration when deciding on how much time and/or how many spaces you choose to book.

Your session time will continue to run as you swap over players.

There are also TV’s which live stream what the player is seeing in their virtual world so you can watch what they are up to.

Believe us, it’s extremely entertaining watching people react when they are in the virtual world!

CAN I JUST WALK IN AND START PLAYING?

Yes, we welcome walk-ins but we recommend booking ahead.

WILL THERE BE SOMEONE WHO CAN HELP ME IF I AM HAVING TROUBLE?

Yes, we will have staff nearby at all times, who will come and help you once you have started your virtual experience.

CAN I WEAR MY GLASSES?

Yes, glasses can be worn with our headsets (HTC Vive’s).

WHO CAN OR CAN’T PLAY?

VR is for everyone!

However due to the size of the headsets we recommend that customers be at least seven years old and over to play.

We do not recommend this experience to those who are heavily pregnant or have a heart condition due to sudden surprises in games and excessive player movement.

Players under the influence of alcohol or drugs will not be allowed to play. You will not receive a refund or credit.

People with a disability can come and enjoy the virtual world, but unfortunately we do not have toilets in the arcade for people with a disability, so please bare that in mind.

WHAT CLOTHING SHOULD I WEAR?

We recommend wearing loose comfy clothing with concealed shoes.

I DON’T WANT MY CHILD PLAYING GAMES RATED OVER THEIR AGE RESTRICTION, HOW CAN I STOP THIS HAPPENING?

All our games and experiences are age classified.

So depending on the age of your child that will determine what games/experiences they have available to them.

We don’t want them to be having zombie nightmares either!

CAN THIS EXPERIENCE CAUSE MOTION SICKNESS?

Every part of the system is designed to give you an immersive experience without any of the motion sickness typically associated with virtual reality systems.

As you are freely moving untethered about the bay, this greatly reduces motion sickness.

Some experiences may cause sickness while you move in the virtual world but stay stable in the real world.

If you do, we recommend taking a short break.

WILL I WALK INTO A WALL?

No (despite how funny this looks), we have in-game safety mechanisms to stop that happening.

It is up to you to pay attention and follow instructions at all times to remain safe.

CAN I BUY A GIFT VOUCHER?

IS THERE PARKING AVAILABLE?

Yes, there are parking spaces along Gouger Street and surrounding areas.

Alternatively, all public transport runs through the city centre where we are located.

IS THERE FOOD OR DRINKS AVAILABLE?

Yes - we have a fridge full of drinks, but unfortunately we do not offer any food.

ARE THERE TOILETS AVAILABLE?

Yes.

However we currently cannot provide toilet access for customers with a disability.
